After a year of remote learning, I’d grown accustomed to the extra effort needed to really connect with people you only see in rectangles on your screen. But the people I’ve been working with at EPoD and J-PAL made me feel like part of a community of researchers after just a few short weeks. Our weekly “coffee breaks” have given the me opportunity to get to know the research managers and pre-doctoral fellows, and to learn more about the other exciting projects that Professor Hanna and Professor Olken are working on. It’s been wonderful to be part of a team where members give each other thoughtful feedback, are always ready to offer assistance, and are mindful of each other’s wellbeing and workloads!
